With over 16 years’ experience advising and guiding distressed businesses through restructuring, transactions and issues arising from insolvency, Huw is a highly skilled turnaround professional. Qualifying as an accountant in 2009, and becoming a licensed insolvency practitioner two years later, Huw is also Member of the Association of Business Recovery Professionals.
After 13 years at KPMG, Huw joined Begbies Traynor, the parent company of RBR Advisory, in 2016 as director before quickly being promoted to partner. An innovative, engaged and practical insolvency practitioner, Huw is known for devising original yet workable strategies for dealing with cash and creditor pressures, improving profitability, and identifying working capital requirements.
Working between our Cardiff and Swansea offices, and taking appointments across South Wales, Huw assists a range of clients from small owner managed businesses to listed plc's and multinationals, across a wide range of sectors, including the public sector.

Huw is often engaged to conduct specialist advisory work including acting as an investigating accountant to undertake short term cash flow and option reviews, assessing strategy and possible outcomes for stakeholders, through to project management, accelerated M&A and enhanced due diligence work.
Throughout his career, Huw has been heavily involved in the restructuring and insolvency of some huge names including Connaught Group, HMV, Peacocks; Premier Properties and Santia Group.
